Aspen Music Festival and School Joins Snowmass Chapel

to Sponsor Valley-wide Maroon Bel Canto Children’s Chorus

Our Winter/Spring Season will start on Wednesday, February 29th at 5:30 PM at St. Peter's of the Valley Episcopal Church in Basalt for children in third grade and older with unchanged voices. All returning students are accepted back without an audition, but will need to submit a Returning Student Form if they didn’t already submit a form last semester. Any new students who are interested in joining for second semester should click on the “audition” tab to the left and follow the instructions for new students.

The Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) has joined forces with the Snowmass Chapel to sponsor the Maroon Bel Canto Children’s Chorus (MBCCC) musical outreach program for Roaring Fork Valley students. Now in its second year, the chorus’s goal is to give young students an opportunity to collaborate, learn and enjoy making music with other students from all across the Valley. Children in third grade or higher with unchanged voices are encouraged to audition.

Rehearsals begin on February 29 and will be held Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:00pm in both Snowmass Village and Basalt (See our calendar page on this website for specific dates, times and locations). The chorus will operate on a season-based schedule with two seasons during the school year (Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring). A possible Summer season is also being discussed. Community performances are scheduled for May 16 & 17. The AMFS/Snowmass Chapel sponsorship has allowed the MBCCC to lower its tuition fee from $150 per season to $75 per season or $100 for the whole year.
